The Borough of Jenkintown has issued two addenda to the Request for Proposals (RFP) for consultant services to develop a Master Plan for the Jenkintown Library.

The Jenkintown Library Board of Trustees is seeking a qualified consultant to assess the existing facility and develop a long-range master plan to guide the Library’s transformation into a 21st Century community anchor institution. The project, which is anticipated to take four to six months with an estimated start date of October 1, 2026, has a not-to-exceed budget of $163,800.

Addendum 1, published August 21, 2026, provides responses to proposer questions regarding the scope of work, submission requirements, and project logistics, including clarification that the Library walkthrough was not mandatory and that attendance will not affect proposal evaluation. Seven firms attended the walkthrough.

Addendum 2 provides the Library’s Strategic Plan, developed at the Board of Trustees’ 2024 Winter Retreat. The plan identifies key priorities for the Library including improved work and study space, ADA accessibility through the addition of an elevator, HVAC replacement, local history preservation, sustainability goals, and parking lot improvements. The Board views the master plan as a critical step toward energizing the community, attracting public funding, and ensuring the long-term viability of the Library.
