Emergency Phone/Device Charging Stations at Both Jenkintown Firehouses

The intense storms that moved through the area this afternoon downed several large trees and many are without power. There are over 135,000 customers without power in Montgomery County.

Independent Fire Company at 609 Greenwood Avenue and Pioneer Fire Company at 700 Greenwood Avenue are both open to the Public to Charge your phones and portable devices. The firehouses will remain open until 9:30 PM this evening for the public’s convenience.

The Borough is in contact with PECO as they work to assess, prioritize and restore power to their customers. The PECO power outage map is available online  opens in a new windowhttps://www.peco.com/Outages/CheckOutageStatus/Pages/OutageMap.aspx  to track the estimated restoration date/time.

At this time PECO is reporting two areas of outage within the Borough area #1 has 445 customers and is the South West area (Summit/Greenwood/Walnut) and PECO is showing that estimated restoration as June 4th at 11:00 PM. Area #2 is the West area (Florence/West) and that is shown to be affecting 397 customers and does not have an estimated date/time of restoration as of the time of this communication.
