Jenkintown Borough Halloween Festivities

The usual Halloween festivities may feel extra scary due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however, Jenkintown Borough Emergency Management, Mayor Allyson Dobbs and the Rec Board are working with the Jenkintown Borough Community to create a safety plan that will provide guidelines for safe and enjoyable Halloween festivities for all.  Current CDC recommendations have been taken into consideration while finalizing these Halloween festivity safety plans.

Sanitary Sewer Main Project Update

The Borough has been notified by the project contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, that the Public Sanitary Sewer Main Project will continue Tuesday, September 29th through Friday, October 2nd from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The Sewer lining and cured in place pipe (CIPP) spot repairs have been completed and the contractor will begin testing and grouting the lateral connections in the sanitary sewer main during this final phase. The contractor has reported that there will be no disruption of service and no foul odor from chemical emittance.

PECO Accelerated Gas Infrastructure Modernization Project (AGIMP)

Natural Gas Service Upgrades
PECO has completed installation of new gas mains and will begin natural gas service upgrades inside of homes on Runnymede, Florence and Hillside Avenues,  for customers previously notified, beginning on Monday, September 28th through Friday, October 2nd from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Runnymede Avenue between Walnut Street and Elm Avenue, Florence Avenue between West and Runnymede Avenues and Hillside Avenue between Florence Avenue and Walnut Street will be closed to thru traffic 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow for the service upgrades to be safely completed in this area.

PECO has completed installation of new gas mains and will begin natural gas service upgrades inside of homes on Hillside and Florence Avenues for customers previously notified on Saturday, September 26th 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  Hillside Avenue between Highland Avenue and Walnut Street and Florence Avenue between Runnymede and West Avenues will be closed to thru traffic 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow for the service upgrades to be safely completed in this area.
