JENKINTOWN BOROUGH has been notified by PennDOT and PECO that York Road / RT 611 will have a lane closure tomorrow evening, Wednesday November 11th between the hours of 7:00 PM and 9:30 PM. The lane closure will occur in the northbound lane between Vista Road and Hillside Avenue. The lane closure is required for the safety of the Contractors that will replacing the electrical transformer to continue with the electrical upgrade project. This schedule will be monitored and updated accordingly.
Please plan an alternate route if you must travel through this area to reduce any delays you might encounter.

Jenkintown has a limited number of shade trees to offer residents. There is NO COST to the property owner. If you would like to be considered for a tree, please send an email to opens in a new windowJenkintownShadeTree@gmail.comcreate new email Hurry, as the trees are going quickly!Be sure to include your name, phone, and street address in your email request. A representative from the shade tree commission will drive by your house and assess it based on a few criteria, such as overhead utilities, underground utilities, amount of space for the tree to grow, etc. All trees must be visible from the street for all to enjoy. There are 3 general categories of trees: small (under 30′), medium (between 30′ – 50′) and large (over 50′). If approved for a tree, the plantings will take place during the weekend of November 13-15, 2015.We are looking for volunteers to help plant.
