2021 Leaf Collection Schedule

The Jenkintown Borough 2021 curbside leaf collection will begin on Monday, October 25th and will continue through Thursday, December 16th.  As in previous years the Borough has been divided in to five (5) routes.  Each route will be collected four (4) times.

The Jenkintown Borough Public Works Department works throughout the Borough to collect leaves placed at the curb. The leaves are then transported to Abington Township and processed in to mulch, that mulch is then available free of charge to residents.  Information on the leaf collection/yard debris program including the route map and pick up schedule are also posted on the Borough’s website (www.jenkintownboro.com/leaf-collection-schedule/) or to access the 2021 Leaf Collection Schedule click here.

Due to the size of the leaf collection trailer, Division Street, Healy Street, McGoldrick Avenue, St. Maur Place and Pear Street will not have curb side collection. These streets will have yard debris collected as normal every Tuesday.

Recycle Bins – Curbside Delivery Underway

Today, Monday, October 18th,  OTTO Environmental Systems delivered approximately 1300 lidded wheeled recycling toters to the Borough Hall parking lot. These recycling toters where purchased with the funding the Borough obtained through the PaDep 902 grant. The recycling toters are being provided (and delivered curbside) 100% free of charge to each solid waste account holder within the Borough of Jenkintown.

Four hundred units were delivered to residences today. Borough Hall parking lot will remain closed for the remainder of the three day operation to allow the Contractors to safely assemble, stage and deliver the recycling toters to the remaining solid waste account holders.

Please Do Not Dispose Of Your Existing Recycling Bins At This Time. Arrangements are being finalized with Republic Services for a convenient centralized disposal point of existing recycling bins within the Borough by residents who choose to do so. An announcement of time frame and exact location will follow shortly. This disposal point should be in place early next week and it appears the location will be in Borough Hall parking lot.
