Sanitary Sewer Main Project Update

The Borough has been notified by the project contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, that the Public Sanitary Sewer Main Project will continue Monday, October 5th from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Cedar Street between Summit Avenue and Washington Lane and Mather Road between Wyncote Road and Walnut Street.

These roads will remain open during this process, however intermittent temporary delays may be expected to allow for life safety of personnel performing the work. Additionally, there will be limited parking in various areas along these roads which will be marked with “temporary no parking” signage.  Please use caution in the area or make plans to take an alternate route to avoid further disruption to your travels. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these necessary improvements are made.

The Sewer lining and cured in place pipe (CIPP) spot repairs have been completed and the contractor will begin testing and grouting the lateral connections in the sanitary sewer main during this final phase.  The contractor has reported that there will be no disruption of service and no foul odor from chemical emittance.

This work is taking place on the Publicly owned portion of the Borough Sanitary Sewer System and is part of the continual and ongoing effort by the Borough to reduce inflow and infiltration (I&I) to the sanitary sewer system, saving money on treatment costs, addressing environmental concerns and providing for additional sanitary sewer capacity allowing for future or proposed business EDU connections.  The funding on this project is being provided through the State Grant Funding (PA Small Water Grant) in the amount of $390,000 that the Borough was awarded.
