Flash Flood Watch is in effect Today, August 13th through August 14th, 12:00 AM

Today, August 13, 2020 there is a FLASH FLOOD WATCH in effect throughout Montgomery County, PA that will affect Jenkintown Borough Residents.  According to the  opens in a new windowNational Weather Service this potential weather threat is in effect until August 14th, 12:00 AM.

  • Safety measures in the event of a power outage: There is always the possibility of a power outage due to the high winds that accompany a storm.  If you use a power generator, please make sure the generator is located outside in the open air for proper ventilation.  Any portable heaters or candles that may be used in the event of a power outage should not be located near anything flammable.
  • Public Works: The Jenkintown Borough Public Works Department have cleared inlets and put signs up around areas where flash flooding is expected.  Please be aware of your surroundings and adhere to the NO PARKING signs located in expected FLASH FLOOD areas.
  • PECO: Customers experiencing any issues should contact PECO at 1-800-841-4141, peco.com or PECO Smart Mobile On-the-Go, the company’s mobile enhanced website. PECO has announced that they have manned their emergency response centers in case of power outages.
