Today is Election Day!

Correction to shared voter information — mail-in ballots must be postmarked by June 2

Jenkintown Borough would like to share the following revision to State Representative Steve McCarter’s election day information shared earlier today:

Dear Neighbor,

Please note: My earlier email to you contained an error. Voters with mail-in and absentee ballots must have the ballot postmarked no later than June 2 in order to be counted in the extension. There will be no drop-off locations beyond tomorrow’s primary election. The deadline to  opens in a new windowhand deliver absentee or mail-in ballots remains 8 p.m. June 2, 2020.

Deadline to receive Montgomery County voters’ ballots by mail extended one week

Gov. Tom Wolf signed an executive order today to give the ballots of Montgomery County voters an additional week to be counted by the county election board for the primary election being held tomorrow, June 2.

With the unprecedented number of ballots being requested and the current state of emergency, this is a prudent decision to ensure everyone’s vote is counted.

If you are mailing your ballot, it must be postmarked by tomorrow, June 2. But the county will have until June 9 to count it. The deadline to hand deliver absentee or mail-in ballots remains 8 p.m. June 2 at any of the  opens in a new windowdesignated county drop-off locations.

If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to opens in a new window Montgomery County Voter Services at (610) 278-3280 or to my office at (215) 572-5210.

Sincerely,

Steve McCarter
