AQUA Water Main Project Road Closures for September 30th & October 1st

AQUA’s sub contractor, Caddick Utilities, will continue the second phase of the excavation and watermain installation project on Monday, September 30 and Tuesday, October 1, 2019.  Vernon Road will be closed to “thru traffic” from Homestead Road to Rydal Road from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM to allow for the roadway to be excavated and the new watermain to be safely installed.  Flaggers and signage will be on site to help control the flow of traffic during this process and residents will continue to have access to their properties. If you do not reside on one of these roads please plan to take another route during these times to avoid disruption to your travels

The excavation and placement of the watermain is now taking place. The installation of the individual water services to customers will follow once the installation of the watermains have been completed. Any road opening will be backfilled daily or safety plated and opened to traffic. The trench will have temporary restoration at the end of each work day.

At the completion of the Aqua Pennsylvania water main upgrade project, Jenkintown Borough intends to include these roads on the upcoming annual road paving program. During that process all curb and sidewalk will be inspected and non-code compliant curb and sidewalk will be marked for repair or replacement. This inspection and marking process will be taking place over the next sixty (60) days to allow residents as much time as possible to prepare to make any required repairs. Should a resident choose to schedule an onsite meeting and or inspection prior to the entire project being inspected and marked, for budgeting purposes or for any other reason, please call Borough hall to schedule.

Please contact Borough hall at 215-885-0700 with any questions or concerns. If you have an emergency dial 911.
