Great news! Jenkintown Borough is experiencing development and redevelopment growth at a remarkable rate! Not to be overlooked during this period is the revitalization of entire blocks of businesses. In this expose of our growing business community, the Borough is featuring the 600 block of West Avenue.

The majority of the structures on this corridor were built in the 1920’s, and some of the businesses that line this particular block have been a staple in the Jenkintown Borough Business District for decades. As a result of long term investments, today the buildings not only look great, but at the time of this writing, the 600 block of West Avenue is 100% occupied with tenants offering quality products and impeccable services.

Located next to the Post Office and across the street from the Immaculate Conception Church, David Arnold Hair Salon has been styling hair for well over 40 years. They’ve won ‘Best Hair Salon’ in Philly 3 times, and have developed a lasting relationship with their clientele.

Next door to David Arnold Salon sits Everest Realty, a local real estate agency that has worked with individuals looking to reside within the Borough, helping them become participating members in the many traditions that occur in Jenkintown.

Everest Realty are neighbors to Breslin’s Consignment Shop, a family owned business, full of name brand clothing and accessories at prices that can’t be beat. This is the same Breslin’s consignment shop that relocated from the 700 block of West Avenue. The new shop is beautiful and provides the same friendly service that they are famous for.

Next to Breslin’s Consignment Shop, reside two businesses: Mine by Design and West Avenue Family Dentistry, both of which are owned by Radist properties. Built in 1998, this building seamlessly fits in with the architecture of the block, and is a fine example of how infill development should take place. Mine by Design invites individuals of all ages to attend classes or host art and pottery parties.
Directly behind Mine by Design sits a quaint dentist office run by Dr. Kaczaj and her staff, offering state of the art, superior dental care.

Next door, the Law Office of Regina and Annemarie Guerin stands out along this stretch of West Avenue, with its bright red awning. Regina Guerin is a pillar of the community. This mother and daughter duo have been practicing law with over 55 years of combined experience and provide affordable, quality representation to the residents of Jenkintown and beyond.

While it has only been in the Borough for 5 years, Time Tiles Online has been in business for 32 years. Much of their business is performed online and pick up of the product is performed at this store front. They offer quality tile and flooring for any size home improvement project.

At the end of the 600 block of West Avenue at Leedom Street sits This Little Gallery, owned and operated by Trish Breslin Miller. Trish Breslin Miller skillfully embraces her Mother’s advice to “Sell what you love”! This Little Gallery is full of original handmade art, gifts and accessories handcrafted by artists. When you need a truly meaningful gift for someone, a fabulous piece of jewelry for a special occasion, or new decor for your home, or a treat for yourself, stop by and see what they have to offer. This Little Gallery is an example of real people putting their heart and soul into what they make. This Little Gallery has been in operation since 1989 and has become a “must see” attraction on West Avenue. The storefront features striking purple awnings and the Mosaic Art Tiles mounted on the building draws attention to a worthy cause.

Please take a walk to the 600 block of West Avenue and don’t be shy! Stop in and meet the owners, artists, professionals, employees, and customers that have made this revitalization possible!

Congratulations to you all and our wishes for your continued success!
