Vernon Road Closed Tomorrow, November 16th

Jenkintown Borough has been notified by Aqua Pennsylvania’s subcontractor, Caddick Utilities, that Vernon Road between Homestead & Clement Road will be closed to thru traffic on Saturday, November 16th from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM daily to allow for water services to be safely installed to the individual properties.

Residents will continue to have access to their properties during this process.  If you do not reside on one of these roads please plan to take another route during these times to avoid disruption of your travels.

The Jenkintown Recreation Board Presents ‘Light up the Square’ 2019

Mark Your Calendars!  The Jenkintown Recreation Board is proud to host the annual ‘Light up the Square’ event Saturday, December 7th at 6:00 PM in Town Square. This is a rain or shine event, in case of inclement weather, the event will be moved to Independent Fire House located at 609 Greenwood Avenue.

Please join us as we celebrate the holidays with the tree lighting and a visit from Santa Claus himself!  There will be hot cocoa provided by West Avenue Grill, cookies provided by Velvet Sky Bakery and entertainment provided by the Jenkintown High School Brass Ensemble.

2019 Holiday String Light Collection

Are you stuck with strands of old holiday string lights that aren’t working anymore?  Or maybe you’ve heard about energy-saving LED lights and want to toss out your old traditional lights in favor of new ones?  No matter what the reason, resist the urge of throwing away your unwanted holiday lights in the trash.  Jenkintown Borough is collecting string lights on behalf of the Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee (JEAC) for recycling, now through January 15th in the vestibule at borough hall OR Jenkintown library during regular business hours!  Your holiday lights will be collected and sent to an established light recycling program and be re-purposed and reused again without further damaging the environment.
