PECO Extends COVID-19 Customer Support Efforts Through June 1

Jenkintown Borough would like to share the following update provided by Suzanne Ryan, PECO External Affairs Manager regarding the company’s COVID-19 policies to ensure customer access to services.

“April 16, 2020 — To offer continued assistance to customers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, PECO is extending its support policies, which include suspending service disconnections, waiving new late fees, and reconnecting customers who were previously disconnected, through at least June 1.
The company’s COVID-19 policies, designed to help ensure all customers have access to safe and reliable electric service during this critical time, launched in mid-March with PECO’s announcement to suspend service disconnections and waive new late payment charges for all of customers. The commitment was extended shortly thereafter to reconnect customers who previously had their power disconnected.

“We recognize the impact of COVID-19 on our customers and communities has been greater than anyone could have imagined, with many experiencing financial difficulties and uncertainty about the future,” said Mike Innocenzo, PECO president and CEO. “We remain committed to every customer through difficult times, and we will continue to support our communities in need. Reminder: Borough will Livestream Public Meetings tomorrow, April 15th

The Borough would like to remind you all that due to the COVID-19 Emergency and in strict observance of Governor Wolf’s “Stay at Home Order”, the Borough will livestream all Public Committee and Borough Council meetings through the Borough’s Facebook page during this emergency. The Administration & Finance and Building, Zoning & Revitalization Committees will hold their regularly scheduled public meeting tomorrow, April 15th at 7:00 PM on the Borough Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/jenkintownboro.  The agendas for tomorrow’s committee meetings can be found here on the Borough’s Website.

The public will be able to submit comments beforehand to the Borough Manager at glocke@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email. comments received before 4:00 PM on the night the meeting will be read during the public meeting. The Public will also have the opportunity to ask comment live during the Public Comment portion of the meeting on the Borough Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/jenkintownboro.
