As the Borough continues to dig out from the weekend’s storm, we would like to remind ALL property owners, including residential and commercial properties, that they are responsible for clearing their sidewalks.

Because of the wall of snow between the sidewalks and the streets, it can take just one property owner with uncleared sidewalks to make the entire block’s sidewalks unusable.  We do NOT want pedestrians forced into the streets.

Jenkintown ordinance number 76-15 requires sidewalks cleared within 10 hours of the end of a snowstorm. Jenkintown Police are enforcing this regulation vigorously.

This also includes icy sidewalks due to overnight melting/refreezing over the next few days.

Please attend to your sidewalks as soon as possible..

The historic blizzard of 2016, “Winter Storm Jonas”, has finally moved out of our region and the storm clean-up continues. The Borough Administration, Emergency Management Coordinator, Public Works Department, Police Department and Borough Fire Chief coordinated efforts on the storm response. The Public Works Department began the storm response last Wednesday with the cleaning of inlets and brining of roads.
