Due to the holiday, the Public Works and Public Safety Committee meetings will be rescheduled for next Wednesday, October 19th at 7:30 PM in Borough Hall.
We apologize for any inconvenience and if you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Borough.
This week is Fire Prevention Week, and the Fire Departments of Jenkintown are hosting an event on Thursday, Oct. 13th, from 6:30 – 8:30 pm. This event will be held on Greenwood Avenue between Leedom Street and York Road. This portion of Greenwood Avenue will be closed to allow for this event. It’s a great opportunity to teach kids about fire prevention, and a chance to meet and say thanks to our volunteers who work so hard for our community. For more information, please see the flyer opens in a new windowhereopens IMAGE file .
Please note both public parking lots will be open but only accessible from Leedom Street.
The Jenkintown Police Department would like to remind borough residents that threats made over social media or email are no joke. Regardless of the poster’s intent, and no matter how outlandish the subject matter, these communications must all be taken seriously and we have seen other districts and communities spend significant time and resources lately investigating these “pranks.” Parents should remind their children that any use of social media that could remotely be interpreted as a threat or attempt at intimidation is a crime, and that identifying the perpetrators is a relatively trivial matter.
We look forward to enjoying a safe and fun Halloween season in Jenkintown and we appreciate residents’ cooperation in this. If you have specific non-emergency concerns, please contact Jenkintown Police at (215) 884-1202.
Due to expected rain showers on Saturday, the Recreation Board has POSTPONED the Chili Cook-Off to our rain date: SATURDAY,OCTOBER 22, 2016.
