“Code Red” Hot Weather Health Warning

Norristown, PA (July 20, 2017) – The Montgomery County Commissioners, on the advice of the Montgomery County Department of Public Safety, have declared a Code Red Hot Weather Health Warning for Montgomery County based on a review of forecasts from the National Weather Service.

Road Closures for Thursday July 20th

The following roads will experience closures tomorrow, Thursday, July 20th. Rodman Avenue between Myrtle and Florence Avenues, Clement Road between Rydal and Vernon Roads, and Vernon Road between Clement and Vista Roads. There will also be temporary road closures on Rydal Road. These roads will be closed tomorrow so that service connections can be made from the newly placed gas main to the individual residences as well as install new gas mains on Clement Road. Contractors will provide access to homes for residents who live in this area.  These road closures will last until approximately 4PM. These closures will take place to allow for PECO to perform the installations safely. At this time the current construction schedule calls for this work to be completed prior to the end of August 2017.

Also, AQUA will have Township Line Road closed between Greenwood Avenue and Newbold Road as well as between Summit Avenue and Washington Lane to allow for trench repairs to the newly installed water mains. These road closures will last until approximately 4PM as well.

Special Council Meeting Tonight!

The Borough Council of the Borough of Jenkintown will hold a special public meeting of council to consider to take actions on the 2017 Paving Project and other matters presented before Council. This meeting will be held tonight, Monday July 17th, 2017 at 7:30pm. in Borough Hall, 700 Summit Avenue, Jenkintown, PA 19046. All interested parties are invited to attend.
