Due to the aftermath of Winter Storm Toby, the Spring Egg Hunt that was previously scheduled for tomorrow, Saturday March 24th has been postponed to Saturday, March 31st. The Spring Egg Hunt will still take place at the Jenkintown School Playground at 10:15 AM for those children who are 4 and up, while the 3 and under children will get the chance to participate in a separate hunt at the baseball field at 10:20 AM.

Jenkintown Borough is seeking a motivated individual to fill a vacant full-time position in the Public Works Department. To qualify for this position, individual must be able to work 40 hours per week with occasional overtime opportunities. Individual must be task oriented and have the ability to work independently, as well as with others. Individual must have experience in equipment operation, road maintenance and routine building and lawn maintenance. Birth Certificate, Social Security card & Valid Driver’s License required (CDL preferred). Employment is contingent on a pre-employment drug test and criminal background check. Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning tonight, 9:00 PM and expiring 9:00 PM Thursday, March 8th, 2018. Current forecasts are calling for 8″ to 12″ of snow. Residents with a driveway are asked to please park in it so that the roads can be cleared for emergency vehicles. If you do not have a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The County has declared a “Code Blue” due to the expected frigid temperatures. All County Offices will be closed tomorrow and the EMC has asked that non-essential personnel not report for duty. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads.
