Recycling Solo Cups this Thanksgiving Season

Having a ‘Friends-giving’? Catching up with friends and family to kick off the holiday season? Help Jenkintown School District earn money by recycling your used plastic Solo Cups through Terracycle! You can find a labeled bin outside of Borough Hall, located at the corner of Leedom Street and Summit Avenue. Or you can head over to Town Square, at the corner of Leedom Street and Greenwood Avenue where an additional bin has been placed.

Place your Solo Cups in either of the collection bins between November 17th  and November 25th to help fund the JSD. Both blue bins are marked with fliers to designate the specific bin to use! You may find a link to the flier here! Every little bit helps!

Have a wonderful and safe holiday!

Jenkintown EAC Recycling Tips

The Jenkintown Environmental Advisory Committee (EAC) would like to remind Borough residents to not place plastic bags or bubble wrap in their recycling bin. Jenkintown does not recycle any plastic bags, even those with a recycle symbol on them. Many supermarkets and retail stores will collect the plastic bags to recycle for you. You can call the store ahead of time and ask if they have a recycling receptacle for bags prior to going. Or, alternatively, you can place them in your trash can. The EAC has included a few links below for those who would like to read about why we do not recycle plastic bags.
