Jenkintown Borough has been notified by SEPTA that there will be overnight work within the track area at Walnut Street Bridge. Septa has reported that notice has been distributed to residents in the impacted area along Walnut Street and Runnymede Avenue. The work is scheduled to begin Friday, January 3rd, 2020 at 11:00 PM and end Saturday, January 4th, 2020 at 7:00 AM.

As a reminder to residents, trash and recycling will be postponed one day due to the New Years holiday. Trash and recycling is normally picked up in the Borough on Fridays however during the week of New Years, trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday, January 4th.
Trash and Recycling will return to its normal Friday collection schedule on January 10th, 2020.
Holiday Tree Collection will occur on all Tuesdays in January. Holiday trees may be disposed of with normal lawn & leaf curbside pickup and will be collected each Tuesday on the following consecutive Tuesdays; January 7th, January 14th, January 21st and January 28th. However, during the week of Christmas and the week of New Years, trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday, December 28th and Saturday, January 4th.

Additionally, Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed onWednesday, December 25th in observance of Christmas Day. The Borough will re-open at 8:00 AM on Thursday, December 26th.

The Jenkintown Grand Menorah Lighting Ceremony will be held at 610 Old York RoadTHIS Sunday, December 22nd at 5:00 PM. The Annual Jenkintown Square Menorah Lighting will be held at Town Square onThursday, December 26th at 6:45 PM. There will be singing, entertainment, latkes, doughnuts and warm beverages to enjoy during the lighting!
Borough Hall will be open Friday, December 20th from 8:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Due to annual maintenance and hardware upgrades being made to the existing computer and phone system, Borough Administration will be closed the afternoon of Friday, December 20th. Borough Hall is expected to be re-open on Monday, December 23rd, 8:00 AM. We apologize for any inconveniences this may cause as the Borough prepares for a new year.
