Jenkintown Borough would like to share the following revision to State Representative Steve McCarter’s election day information shared earlier today:
Dear Neighbor,
Please note: My earlier email to you contained an error. Voters with mail-in and absentee ballots must have the ballot postmarked no later than June 2 in order to be counted in the extension. There will be no drop-off locations beyond tomorrow’s primary election. The deadline to hand deliver absentee or mail-in ballots remains 8 p.m. June 2, 2020. Jenkintown Borough would like to share the following important election day information provided by State Representative Steve McCarter:
Mail-in ballot deadline extended one week
Gov. Tom Wolf signed an executive order today to give Montgomery County voters an additional week to return their mail-in ballots for the primary election being held tomorrow, June 2.
His executive order allows voters to return their ballots to locations determined by the county election board by 8 p.m. next Tuesday, June 9. PECO Update: Accelerated Gas Infrastructure Modernization Project (AGIMP)
The Borough has been notified by PECO’s subcontractor, Henkels & McCoy, that the Accelerated Gas Infrastructure Modernization Project (AGIMP) will continue Monday, June 1st. Walnut Street between Cheltena and West Avenues will have temporary lane closures for approximately one week beginning Monday, June 1st from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM to allow for the installation of new gas mains to be safely completed in this area. Flaggers will be on site to assist with traffic control due to temporary lane closures. Residents will continue to have access to their properties during this process. If you do not reside on this road please take another route during these times to avoid disruption of your travels.
