Beginning in 2018, Jenkintown Borough Public Meetings are to be held on Wednesday evenings. This change was authorized in an effort to assist in fostering continued public involvement in Borough Council meetings. The simplified meeting schedule will mean that the regularly scheduled Committee and Council meetings will fall on Wednesday evenings. Additionally, this revision to the meeting schedule will ensure that Borough Council and JSD School Board meetings will no longer be held on the same evenings, which hopefully enables residents as well as Board & Council members to attend both Jenkintown Borough Council and JSD – School Board meetings if desired. Important Information Update
The J.P.D. and the Borough Public Works Department have worked throughout the storm and expect to be wrapping up those operations within the next few hours. The forecast is calling for single digit and negative temperatures until Monday, January 8th. The frigid temperatures will cause icing and dangerous conditions. Salting operations will continue to be deployed as needed to make the roadways safe.

Trash/Recycling & Holiday Tree Collection Schedule
Just a reminder to residents of Jenkintown that trash and recycling will be postponed one day this week and next week due to Christmas Day and New Years Day falling on a Monday.
Trash and recycling will be collected on Saturday, January 6th due to the New Year holiday.
Holiday Tree Collection will occur on all Tuesdays in January. Trees must be placed on the curb and this collection will only apply to real trees. All lights, tinsel, beads and ornaments must be removed. Trees should not be placed in a tree bag; since all recycled trees will be ground into wood mulch. If there are any questions about tree collection, please call 215-885-0700.

Trash & Recycling Holiday Schedule
As a reminder to residents, trash and recycling will be picked up a day later than usual due to the Christmas and New Years holidays. Trash and recycling is normally picked up in the Borough on Fridays. However, during the week of Christmas and the week of New Years trash will be collected on Saturday, December 30th and Saturday, January 6th.

Jenkintown Borough Council is seeking to fill a vacancy on Borough Council. The term will expire on January 1st, 2019. Interested persons must be a registered elector living in the Third Ward of Jenkintown Borough for at least one year.
