Summit Avenue will be closed tomorrow, Wednesday September 12th, between Wyncote Road and Walnut Street from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. The closure will take place to allow for Asplundh, a PECO contractor to trim trees around power lines. During this time, the use of driveways on Summit Avenue may be disrupted – those who will be affected should have been notified by Jenkintown Public Works.

Due to the regularly scheduled Planning Commission meeting falling on the Holy Holiday of Yom Kippur, the Planning Commission meeting has been re-scheduled for Monday, September 17th, at 6:30 PM. The meeting will be held at Borough Hall.
The applicant for “Summit House” will be making their second Subdivision Land Development (SALDO) appearance before the Commission. The agenda will be posted on the Borough’s website as soon as it is approved by the Planning Commission.

With the school year just under way, the contractor, NJS Concrete, has been working diligently to promptly complete the project to minimize any delays that might occur during the morning and afternoon commute. On Monday, September 10th from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM,  the following roads will be closed to through traffic, Cedar Street between West Avenue and Shoemaker Avenue, Hillside Avenue between Cedar Street and Leedom Street, and Leedom Street between Cherry Street and Shoemaker Avenue, to allow for the excavation and installation of the handicap ramps at the above listed roads. During this time, residents will have access to their driveways.

Jenkintown Borough would like to remind its residents that trash and recycling collection will be delayed this week due to the Labor Day holiday. Trash and recycling this week will be collected on Saturday, September 8th.

Trash and recycling collection will return to its normal pick up time of Fridays the following week.
