Highland Avenue Road Closure

During the summer, Jenkintown Borough was awarded the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), funded by the Department of Community and Economic Development. This grant allowed the Borough to replace handicap ramps within the Borough, bringing them into current code compliance.

The Borough began this project in late August, working in areas in close proximity to the school with the intent to complete these portions before the start of the new year.

With the start of the school year fast approaching, the contractor, NJS Concrete, has been working diligently to complete the project. Highland Avenue, from West Avenue to Hillside Avenue will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, August 30 from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM to allow for the excavation of the handicap ramps in that area.  During this time, residents will have access to their driveways.

Please make plans to take an alternate route during the times listed to avoid further disruption to your travels. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these necessary repairs are made. If you have any questions or concerns please do not hesitate to get in contact with the Borough at (215) 885-0700.

This will give all residents and visitors to the Borough website the opportunity to see all that makes Jenkintown Borough a special place to live and visit.

In addition to this exciting new feature, Jenkintown Borough has been continually working to update its website with information, new pictures and upcoming events including Jenkintown Borough’s Arts Fest that will occur in September.
