Important Fourth of July Information

BOROUGH ADMINISTRATION OFFICE HOURS

The Borough would like to remind everyone that Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed, Tuesday, July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July Holiday and will re-open for business on Wednesday, July 5th.


TRASH, RECYCLING, LAWN & LEAF AND BULK PICK UP SCHEDULE

Due to the observance of the Fourth of July Holiday on Tuesday, July 4th, the Borough’s curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and will be collected on Saturday, July 8th.

Due to the observance of the Fourth of July holiday, yard debris will be picked up on Thursday, July 6th. The Bulk / Special Pick Up will still be taking place on Wednesday, July 5th.


ANNUAL FOURTH OF JULY PARADE

The Jenkintown Volunteer Fire Department is once again proud to sponsor the Borough’s Annual 4th of July Celebration.  This year’s Celebration will begin with the parade that has been scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 4th, at 10:00 A.M., with a rain date of Saturday, July 8th, at 10:00 A.M.

Trash & Recycling Delay – Memorial Day Holiday

Due to the observance of the Memorial Day Holiday on Monday, May 29th, the Borough’s curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and will be collected on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023.

Additional and Project Specific Information will be provided on the Borough website on the land development page and at Borough Hall. This Project was initially submitted under a ‘Conditional Use Application’ and has been before the JB Planning Commission where the apartment building use was Recommended for Approval along with the reduction of parking to Borough Council with the recommendation for the proposed developer to meet with the adjacent property owners to discuss the project and possible revisions that could address their concerns.
The Conditional Use Application for the ‘Apartment Building Use’ was then submitted and went to a Public Hearing on October 26th before Borough Council. At the conclusion of the public Conditional Use Hearing on November 30th 2022, Borough Council Approved the ‘Apartment Building Use’.

York Road Delays & Homestead Rd Road Closure

TOMORROW – THURSDAY MARCH 30TH THROUGH FRIDAY MARCH 31ST 
A scheduled Road Closure of the 800 Block of Homestead Road is set to begin tomorrow morning, March 30th between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM through Friday, March 31st at 5:00 PM. The road will be closed to through traffic from York Road to Vernon Road as well as Cottman Street from the driveway exit of 428 York Road (Jenkintown Center Shopping Center) to Homestead Road. The closure has been scheduled by the Property Owner(s) of 821 Homestead Road so their Contractors who will be transporting large equipment will be able to safely access the site to unload the equipment.

There will also be No Parking on Homestead Road, beginning at midnight tonight, March 29th, and continuing for the duration of this road closure.

In addition to the closing of Homestead Road, there will be intermittent delays on York Road tomorrow, March 30th and Friday, March 31st between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to allow for the transportation of the equipment safely to the site at 821 Homestead Road.
