As the Borough continues to take necessary safety precautions during this CODIV-19 emergency, the Jenkintown Public Works Department will continue with limited special/ bulk trash collections in August. The next scheduled “Special Collection” will take place on Wednesday, August 19th. Your collection request must be submitted no later than Tuesday, August 18th at 4:00 PM so a complete list can be compiled and provided to the PW Foreman for route scheduling.

Emergency Phone/ Device Charging at Both Jenkintown Fire Companies
The intense storms that moved through the area earlier today downed several large trees and many are without power. There are over 22,000 customers without power in Montgomery County.
Independent Fire House at 609 Greenwood Avenue and Pioneer Fire House at 700 Greenwood Avenue are both open to the Public to Charge your phones and portable devices. The firehouses will remain open for the next few hours this evening for the public’s convenience.

Today, August 3, 2020 there is a TROPICAL STORM WATCH and FLASH FLOOD WARNING in effect throughout Montgomery County, PA that will affect Jenkintown Borough Residents. This potential weather threat is in effect from this evening, August 3 at approximately 10:00 PM EDT through Wednesday, August 5, 12:00 AM EDT. According to the National Weather Service, widespread amounts of heavy rain of 4-6 inches or more associated with Tropical Storm Isaias, along with high winds are expected which can cause flash flooding.
