Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 27th and Friday, November 28th in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. Borough Hall will reopen for business on Monday, December 1st at 9:00 AM.
REMINDER: Due to the observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday, the Borough’s curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and will be collected on Saturday, November 29th, 2025.
Due to the observance of the Labor Day Holiday on Monday, September 1st, the Borough’s curbside trash and recycling collection will be delayed one day and will be collected on Saturday, September 6, 2025.
Borough Hall will be closed to administrative business on Friday, August 29th. This closure is necessary so that painting and finishes may be applied to the walls of the office without exposing Borough employees and the public visiting Borough Hall to the odors and fumes omitted during this process. Borough Hall will re-open for administrative business on Tuesday, September 2nd at 8:30 AM following the Labor Day Holiday.
The Public Works Foreman, Borough Manager and Fire Marshal/Code Inspector will be available if needed by email and phone.
The Borough has been notified by PECO’s Contractor J.K. Kiely Construction that there will be temporary lane restrictions on York Road at the intersection of West Avenue, beginning Monday, July 28th through Tuesday July 29th to allow for the replacement of the gas main to be safely completed in this area. West Avenue will also be closed from York Road to Cottman Street. Work will be taking place from 8:00 PM until 6:00 AM.
This work has been scheduled to take place overnight to minimize disruption to traffic. Please plan to use an alternate route during these times to avoid disruption of your travels.
The Borough has been notified that West Avenue between Vernon Road and Newbold Road will be closed Thursday, July 17th during the hours of 7:00 am to 3:00 pm so that PECO’s Contractor, J.K. Kiely Construction can safely replace the gas main in this area. Residents will have access to their properties during this time but can expect intermittent delays.
