Borough Halloween Festivities
As many of you know the annual Scare on the Square and the Mayor’s Pumpkin Drop both sponsored by the Jenkintown Rec board have been cancelled this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Fortunately, Halloween falls on a Saturday this year and the in lieu of our regularly scheduled events, the Rec Board is partnering with the Jenkintown Fire Department to sponsor a Halloween Parade through town to deliver candy to costumed kids of all ages from 2 to 4 pm on October 31st. Weather permitting all those on their front yards will get a head start on their trick-or-treating as our fabulous volunteers greet the kids with treats, costumes, and music to help make this holiday and the year hopefully a little more festive! The route will be decided upon and disseminated by October 30th, 2020.
The Friends of the Jenkintown Library will be hosting its first annual Halloween House Decorating Contest. #BooInTheBoro Watch for information on how to participate by signing up for Library emails at https://www.jenkintownlibrary.org/ and follow the Friends of the Jenkintown Library on Facebook here.
