Abington Friends School hosts 17 MLK ‘Day of Service’ projects
The public is invited to join in the Martin Luther King Day of Service activities at Abington Friends School from 9 a.m. until noon on Monday, January 18. The projects benefit many worthy local organizations, including The Breathing Room Foundation, Aid for Friends and Whosoever Gospel Mission. Volunteers are needed to bake bread, make soup, make scarves and blankets, build bird feeders or help clean up the creek that flows through the campus. All ages are welcome.
Also, don’t miss a huge “New to You” clothing sale at Abington Friends School on Saturday, Jan. 16, from 9 a.m. until noon. Hundreds of gently used items will be on sale, and none is priced higher than $3. Proceeds benefit the Montgomery County Women’s Center’s domestic-violence-prevention project.
Abington Friends School is located at 575 Washington Lane, Jenkintown, Pa.
