Water Main Break on Walnut Street

Borough officials have been notified by AQUA PA of a water main break near the intersection of Walnut Street and Greenwood Avenue. Officials from AQUA PA are on site at this time and have isolated the area of the break in order to limit the disruption in water service to the surrounding area and make all necessary repairs. At this time AQUA is reporting that water service has been disrupted on the 300 block of Walnut Street. In order to facilitate the repair work, Walnut Street between West Avenue and Greenwood Avenue will be closed until further notice. AQUA is estimating that it may take approximately 4 to 8 hours to complete the repairs. Borough officials ask that you please use caution when driving in this area as roads may be icy.

Winter Storm Jonas is finally over!

The historic blizzard of 2016, “Winter Storm Jonas”, has finally moved out of our region and the storm clean-up continues. The Borough Administration, Emergency Management Coordinator, Public Works Department, Police Department and Borough Fire Chief coordinated efforts on the storm response. The Public Works Department began the storm response last Wednesday with the cleaning of inlets and brining of roads. Trash Collection for Friday 1/22

Due to the potential snow storm coming on Friday January 22nd, trash collection will begin 1 hour earlier, at 6 a.m., to allow enough time for the crew to safely travel to and from the transfer station.
