Jenkintown’s Roadway and Sidewalk Improvement: 10-Year Progress Update

Jenkintown Borough has released the Ten-Year Progress Report on its Concrete Infrastructure Program, detailing significant advancements in roadway paving, sidewalk and curb improvements, and ADA-accessible curb ramp installations since the program’s inception in 2013. This initiative aims to enhance walkability, safety, and quality of life throughout the Borough. Over the past decade, the Borough has paved 70% of non-state roads, addressed nearly 15 miles of sidewalks and curbs for compliance, and installed 262 ADA-compliant curb ramps. While challenges like the COVID-19 pandemic and rising material costs have impacted timelines, the Borough remains committed to completing all road paving by the 2029/2030 season.
