In preparation for the June 2, 2020 Primary Election during the COVD-19 pandemic, Montgomery County has taken steps to make voting safer and more efficient. Pennsylvania law now allows voters the option to vote by absentee or mail-in ballot rather than going to their polling place on Election Day. In Montgomery County, we are making voting more efficient by providing five (5) secure drop-off boxes located throughout the county for voters to return their completed ballots and avoid postal service delays.
We are encouraging constituents to drop-off their completed ballots at these secure locations instead of placing them in the mail. Completed ballots must be placed in the drop-off boxes by the time the polls close at 8pm on Election Day, Tuesday, June 2, 2020.
Please see the attached flyer to find hours and locations for the five (5) drop-off boxes.
Voters may apply for a mail-in or absentee ballot online at votespa.com. Applications for mail-in and absentee ballots must be received by the county election office by 5pm on Tuesday, May 26. However, if you wait until May 26 to apply, there is a chance you will not receive your ballot in time to return it by mail or to a secure drop-off box.
Of course, voters may still vote in person at their polling place, but due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, voters may not be voting at their regular polling place. Voters may find their polling place by visiting montcopa.org/voterservices and clicking on “Where Do I Vote” under “Ways We Serve You.”
