As part of their commitment, AQUA is working to upgrade our water main system and improve water quality in our neighborhood. This work includes replacing the existing water main on Washington Lane between Township Line Road and York Road. The installation of the new AQUA water main and services are scheduled to begin on September 28, 2017. Construction will take place weekdays between 9 AM and 3 PM. 

Jenkintown Borough will use email and its website to report on AQUA’s progress and upcoming street closures/reconfigurations. Road access will be provided for emergency, mail, school bus and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties, but at times will need to enter from a different location due to the changing work zones.

AQUA, Abington Township, and Jenkintown Borough are collaborating closely in order to minimize the impact on residents, businesses and property owners. However, because of the magnitude of the project, some disruption is inevitable. AQUA will notify customers 24 hours in advance of any schedule shutdown, if a shutdown is necessary. A detour plan will be posted as soon as PennDot issues final approval.
