As part of our continuing infrastructure improvement program, Aqua Pennsylvania (AQUA) will replace the existing water main on Township Line Road between Old York Road and Summit Avenue.
The $652,000 project is scheduled to begin next week, February 27, 2017 with the installation of 3,200 feet of 8-inch ductile iron pipe, with completion expected in June. The new main will replace the existing 8-inch and 4-inch cast iron mains. It is important to note that the trench will be covered with temporary black top at the end of each work day. Once all of the activity described has been completed, permanent restoration will follow in about 30 to 60 days.
Construction will typically take place weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. There will be a detour in place between Washington Lane and Summit Avenue. A map of the detour can be found opens in a new windowhereopens PDF file . Access will be provided for emergency, mail, school bus and trash services. Residents will have access to their properties but at times will need to enter from a different direction due to changing work zones. AQUA has stated that they will notify customers 24 hours in advance of any scheduled shutdown, however, as with any construction project, an emergency shutdown might be necessary. If so, AQUA will restore service as soon as possible.
If you have any questions regarding the project, please contact Mike Staerk, AQUA’s Superintendent of Construction, at 215.659.2505 ext. 56005. Should you have an emergency, including a water quality issue, please call AQUA’s Customer Service Department or emergency dispatcher at 877.987.2782
We appreciate your patience and cooperation during this construction while we make important improvements to the water distribution system.
