Route 611 Traffic Signal Interconnection Project
Upgrades to the traffic signals along the 611 corridor are expected to begin on May 21, 2010 within the Borough. Work includes installing new traffic signal support mast arms and pedestals, installing new energy efficient LED signal heads, and emergency pre-emption to improve response to emergencies. ADA-compliant curb ramps will be constructed at three of the project intersections. In addition, there will be LED countdown man-hand pedestrian signals installed at each signalized intersection which will let pedestrians know how much time they have to cross the signalized intersection.
The proposed schedule beginning May 21st is as follows and is subject to change due to weather conditions. This website will have the most current information on the project. Traffic in these areas will be affected and lanes may be closed for a period of time between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.
