Vernon Road will be closed to “thru traffic” from Homestead Road to West Avenue AND Newbold Road will be closed to “thru traffic” from Homestead Road to Washington Lane from 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM to allow for the roadway to be excavated and the new watermain to be safely installed. Additionally, West Avenue from Vernon Road to Newbold Road will have temporary road closures during this time. Mayor Dobbs would like to let residents know that the Jenkintown Police Department has a permanent drop box in the lobby of the Jenkintown Police Department that is available for medication drop off 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The drugs should be placed in a sealed container such as the original bottle or a zip lock bag (liquids should remain in the original container) and remove any personal information or obscure it with a permanent marker. Needles and intravenous injectable solutions would not accept here, however can be taken back to Abington Hospital’s Emergency Room for proper disposal. Read More »
