Phase Two of the Sanitary Sewer Lining Project will continue on Tuesday, November 5th,  and Wednesday, November 6th, 2019 on Newbold Road between Homestead Road & Washington Lane & Nice Avenue between Greenwood Avenue & Cottman Street from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM.  During this phase of the project the contractor, National Water Main Cleaning Company, will complete spot repairs. This work being completed at this time should not cause any disruption to water/ sewer service to residents.

2019 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project Update: Phase TWO, Monday, November 4, 2019

Spot Treatment of Water Main Sewers

National Water Main Cleaning Company completed Phase One of the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Project today, November 1st. Phase One included the scoping / videoing and cleaning of the sewer mains along the West Avenue Drainage Basin. This took place on Cedar, Walnut and Cottman Streets, Mather, Wyncote Vernon, Newbold and York Roads, West and Greenwood Avenues, Washington Lane and Township Line Road.

Phase Two is scheduled to begin on Monday, November 4th, 2019 on Newbold Road between Homestead Road & Washington Lane, Cottman Street between Homestead Road & West Avenue and Nice Avenue between Greenwood Avenue & Cottman Street from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. PECO Power Outages, November 1, 2019: POST STORM UPDATE

PECO has requested that Jenkintown Borough share the following regarding power outages from last nights storm:

“As you know, PECO experienced a bad storm overnight with high winds. Currently we have approximately 97,000 customers without power and have restored over 80,000 customers. We have a significant number of outage events to work. We expect this to be a multi-day restoration event and are working diligently to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

A few reminders on how we can work efficiently with each other:

  1. Please review the attached document click here which provides instructions on how to access PECO’s outage map and view information on outages specific to your municipality. This is the most up to date information PECO has available
  2. Report power outages and downed wires to PECO at 1-800-841-4141

  3. Please provide addresses and/or account numbers when reporting issues

  4. DO NOT TOUCH DOWNED WIRES, assume every wire is energized emphasize safety as the top priority

2019 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project UPDATE- October 29th & 30th

The National Water Main Cleaning Company will continue PHASE ONE of the 2019 Sanitary Sewer Lining Project on Tuesday, October 29 and Wednesday, October 30, 2019 from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily.  During this portion of the project the contractor will be cleaning and videoing the sewer lines for measurements.  The Borough has been informed that there will not be road closures at this time and only minor traffic disruptions are expected. The following streets will be affected:

Tuesday, October 29th-
Vernon Road between Washington Lane to Homestead Road
Cottman Street between Nice Avenue and Homestead Road
Newbold Road between Clement Road to Homestead Road
York Road between Homestead to West Avenue

Wednesday, October 30th- 
West Avenue  between Walnut Street to Greenwood Avenue
