Cedar Street between Washington Lane and Harper Avenue will be closed the afternoon of Monday, October 14th to all through traffic from 12 / Noon until 4:00 PM. The road closure is to allow the Borough Public Works Department to perform exploratory excavation of the roadway to determine the field locations of existing utilities. The information obtained will be used to enable the Borough Engineer to properly and efficiently design the proposed storm sewer infrastructure work that will be taking place in the near future to address the flooding of Cedar Street during heavy rainfalls. This infrastructure improvement work will be funded by the 2018 DCED Flood Mitigation Grant received by the Borough in the amount of $100,000. All aspects of this project will continue to be discussed and public input is welcomed at the regularly scheduled monthly Public Works and Building/Zoning & Revitalization Committee Meetings held at Borough hall Calendar here.
The temporary road closure will take place to ensure the safety of both the General Public as well as the workers performing the excavation of the roadway. Please make plans to take an alternate route during the time listed above to avoid further disruption to your travels.
Should you have any questions regarding this road closure or the project, please contact Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700. If there is an emergency, please call 911.
