York Road Delays & Homestead Rd Road Closure

TOMORROW – THURSDAY MARCH 30TH THROUGH FRIDAY MARCH 31ST 
A scheduled Road Closure of the 800 Block of Homestead Road is set to begin tomorrow morning, March 30th between the hours of 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM through Friday, March 31st at 5:00 PM. The road will be closed to through traffic from York Road to Vernon Road as well as Cottman Street from the driveway exit of 428 York Road (Jenkintown Center Shopping Center) to Homestead Road. The closure has been scheduled by the Property Owner(s) of 821 Homestead Road so their Contractors who will be transporting large equipment will be able to safely access the site to unload the equipment.

There will also be No Parking on Homestead Road, beginning at midnight tonight, March 29th, and continuing for the duration of this road closure.

In addition to the closing of Homestead Road, there will be intermittent delays on York Road tomorrow, March 30th and Friday, March 31st between 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM to allow for the transportation of the equipment safely to the site at 821 Homestead Road. Jenkintown PD Recognizes Three Officers for Outstanding Work

Three Jenkintown police officers holding their certificates of commendation.

As published in opens in a new windowthis article in the Glenside Local, “the Jenkintown Police Department recently recognized three officers for outstanding work.

Officer Murtagh received a Commendation for Bravery when he arrested an armed individual who had just fired a handgun near two victims.

Officer Tuffy and Detective Sangree received a Commendation for Merit for the arrest of a check fraud suspect who had affected nearly 50 victims and who had stolen $100,000.00.

Both incidents took place in November 2022.”
