YORK ROAD MILLING AND PAVING OPERATION

The Borough has been notified that the York Road milling and paving operation has been scheduled.

PECO’s restoration contractor ‘Kehoe Construction, Inc.’ will be milling and paving York Road next week, Mon 5/12 through Thurs 5/15. PennDOT has scheduled the work to take place between 8:00 PM and 4:00 AM to limit the negative impacts of the paving operation. The work is to restore the roadway where the new Gas Main was installed. Weather permitting the contractor has scheduled to complete the paving operation during this timeframe.

During this time there will be lane closures that may lead to traffic delays. If you are planning travel during these times, you may want to seek an alternate route. Traffic control is mandated by PennDOT and PennDOT will be Inspecting the work as it is a State Road. Kehoe Construction has contracted with the Borough to provide a Police presence during the hours of the paving operation.

Once the paving operation has been completed all thermoplastic striping & symbols will be restored as well as any traffic calming features that had previously existed.

Jenkintown2035 Comprehensive Plan Implementation Report

In part, the Jenkintown2035 community vision statement reads “Jenkintown envisions a vibrant future for the community that builds upon its rich foundation as a leader in sustainability, economic development, and community involvement.” Over the last several years, the borough has worked to advance this vision and implement the many recommendations of the Jenkintown2035 plan. This booklet highlights some of the borough’s many projects and initiatives, as they relate to each of the four themes of Jenkintown2035.
