Community Meeting – Parking Management

The Borough will be holding a community meeting to discuss on and off-street parking, management and regulations throughout the Borough. The meeting will be held in person at Borough Hall on Thursday, September 19th, at 7:00 PM.
All interested residents, property owners and business owners are encouraged to attend and participate in the discussions on this important subject.
The Borough Parking Ordinance that was adopted in 1978 and then revised in 2006 is now approaching nineteen years old. We have all seen many changes in the Borough as it relates to parking needs during this time requiring this need for review, revisions/additions to Borough Code, Chapter 172 Vehicles and Traffic, Articles lll through Vl. As well, review and discussion has been taking place to identify for removal, ambiguous language and language that simply no longer applies.
This is an excellent opportunity to further the effort to modernize and structure the parking ordinance to reflect the current and future parking needs of the Borough while clearly defining the standards and regulations to be enforced.

Message from the Jenkintown Police Department

SCAM ALERT

The Jenkintown Police have received numerous reports from business owners who have received fraudulent phone calls. The individual is identifying himself as a Jenkintown Police Officer, and using the name(s) of retired officers. The individual attempts to fraudulently receive payments from the victim under the guise of missed court dates or mandatory payments etc.

We want to remind everyone that the police do not collect money for the court in any form or for any other agency. The public can always verify the legitimacy of police inquiries made via phone by hanging up and calling 911 to have a dispatcher contact our officers. Additionally, as with any scam never provide personal information to unknown individuals over the phone.

Message from the Jenkintown Police Department and Jenkintown Borough
The Jenkintown Police Department and Jenkintown Borough continue working to improve the Parking of Vehicles within Jenkintown Borough.
As the Borough transitions to the next generation of parking meters and parking payment options there will be changes to the current payment methods. The three current Parking Kiosks located in the Town Square (Greenwood) lot, and the Greenwood/Leedom lots will no longer accept credit cards for payment. Payments at these three Kiosks can now be made with US dollar bills, US change or by using the ParkMobile payment method currently in use in the Borough by using Zone # 1603.
