Road Delays & No Parking on Vernon, Vista & Clement Roads 

Phase one continues (Video & Cleaning of Mains) – Tomorrow, November 15th, 2017. During this phase of the project the Contractor (National Water Main Cleaning Company) will be cleaning and video taping the main sewers on the project to review and confirm the proposed repairs. This portion of the project is expected to be completed this week and as soon as two days.  To perform the work safely, there will need to be no parking on side of the following roads Vernon Road (between Homestead & Clement Roads), Vista Road (between York & Vernon Roads), and Clement Road (between Rydal & Vernon Roads) from 7AM until 5PM. Signs have been placed in the area indicating the areas of “No Parking”

Important Thanksgiving Weekend and Holiday Activities

Below is important information from the Borough regarding the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and all holiday activities occurring in Town Square:

Borough Hall Hours – November 22, 2017: Jenkintown Borough Hall will have amended hours on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.  Borough Hall will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017.

Borough Hall Closed – November 23, 2017 and November 24, 2017: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 23, 2017 and Friday, November 24, 2017 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.  Borough Hall will reopen on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. Read More »

Sanitary Sewer Project set to begin, Monday, November 13th, 2017

The Borough’s Sanitary Sewer System was constructed in the 1920’s and includes approximately 10 miles of pipes and 350 manholes. The Borough sewage is conveyed through Cheltenham Township and is treated in the Philadelphia Water & Sewage plant. The PAdep is the regulatory agency that oversees all sanitary sewage and related activities. The Borough continues to repair and improve the existing system to meet State and Federal regulations. This year (2017) the Borough has completed the required repairs to seven of the eight known deficiencies to the sanitary sewer system that require excavation to repair. Read More »
