Runnymede Avenue Closure

Runnymede Avenue will be closed today, between Elm Avenue and Walnut Street on April 24th from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. This closure will take place to allow for PECO to repair a gas leak that has occurred on the 400 block of Runnymede Avenue.

PECO will provide access to homes for residents who live in this area.  Please make plans to take an alternate route to avoid further disruption to your travels. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these necessary repairs are made.

Highland Avenue closed between Summit & Greenwood Avenues

The Borough has just received notification that a road closure on Highland Avenue from Summit to Greenwood Avenues will be required today, Monday April 23rd until 2PM to allow for trees to be removed from a private property. Pedestrians will have access to the sidewalk on the east side of the road, however we ask that you use caution when traversing the area. The road closure will take place to ensure the safety for both the General Public as well as the workers.

E-Waste Event at Whole Foods

Please join Junkluggers this Saturday, April 21st from 9:00 AM until 12:00 PM at Whole Foods Market located at 1575 The Fairway in Abington for a free e-waste recycling event. Donate any item and receive a complimentary 12 oz. cup of drip coffee, courtesy of Whole Foods Market. Junkluggers can not accept: CRT/projection TV’s or Freon containing appliances at this event. State Champion Lady Drakes Basketball Parade

Jenkintown Borough would like to honor the State Champion Lady Drakes Basketball Team on Friday, April 27th beginning at 1:15 PM. The event will include a parade and ceremony in the Jenkintown Stadium.

The parade route will be as follows: Begin at the school tennis courts at the corner of Walnut Street and West Avenue and proceed down West Avenue, making a left onto Florence Avenue. The team will continue down Florence Avenue and turn left onto Greenwood Avenue. The team will then continue down to Highland Avenue where the parade will conclude and the team will then proceed into the stadium. Read More »

Public Meeting – Conditional Use Hearing – Wednesday April 25 7:30 PM

Wednesday, April 25 – Public “Conditional Use Hearing” – Borough Council Meeting

In addition to the regularly scheduled April Borough Council meeting, as announced at the April 18th Conditional Use Hearing, Jenkintown Borough Council will hold a continuation of the public hearing, pertaining to the application submitted by Summit House Associates 2018 LLC, Wednesday April 25th, 2018. The regularly scheduled Borough Council meeting time has been changed to begin at 6:30 PM to allow for the Conditional Use hearing to begin at 7:30 PM. This time change has been advertised in a newspaper of general circulation as required by State Borough Code.
