Jenkintown Borough Council is seeking to fill vacancies on Borough Council. Each appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January after the next municipal election (November 2019), when an eligible person elected to office will serve the remainder of each term (Ward 2 – January 1st, 2024 and Ward 3 – January 1st, 2022, respectively).
Interested persons must be a registered elector having resided in the Second or Third Ward respectively, for one continuous year, prior to the date of appointment. Good evening, The Borough is currently processing the construction permits for the JSD vestibule project. The project will begin in March and conclude in June 2019. The JPD & Borough Admin. has provided for three temporary – twenty minute parking stalls on West Avenue across from the school entrance for convenience of visitors while conducting official school business. Washington Lane between Vernon & York Roads and Greenwood Avenue between York & Jenkintown Roads will be closed to all through traffic today, Tuesday February 26th, 2019. This closure will allow for Abington Township to repair the traffic signals and wiring at the intersection of Washington Lane and Greenwood Avenue that were damaged.

Trash and recycling will be picked up this week on Friday, February 22nd.
Jenkintown Borough was notified by Republic Services, that despite the snow storm today, the curbside trash and recycling pick up will not be delayed this week.
