Jenkintown Borough hall will be closed tomorrow, Thursday, April 18th and Friday, April 19th. Borough hall will reopen for business at 8:00 AM on Monday, April 22nd. The Structural Engineer has completed their final analysis and while the inspections and calculations indicated the remaining portion of the common wall should withstand the wind loads that could be imposed, the results did not indicate that Borough hall would be safe to be occupied during the remaining demolition of the common wall. The demolition at 610 Summit Avenue as it applies to the common wall with Borough hall is on schedule to be completed by the end of the week, Friday April 19th.

The April Jenkintown Borough Design Review Board meeting has been canceled due to lack of agenda items. Next DRB meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, 6:00 PM at Borough hall. The April 24th Borough Council meeting is expected to be held as regularly scheduled, 7:30 PM at Borough hall.

The closing is to allow the Professional Structural Engineers to complete their thorough structural inspection of the demolition at 610 Summit Avenue as it applies to the common wall with Borough hall. The property owner of 610 Summit Avenue has been responsive and has communicated to the Borough their intent to do everything possible to make the site safe and complete the demolition expeditiously.
