The Jenkintown Library is seeking to fill the following positions:

Communications Coordinator
This person will be responsible for Jenkintown Library’s overall communications and will manage the Library’s “personality” in written and visual form such that the Library’s unique “Voice” emerges. This will be accomplished through regularly updating and maintaining the Library’s website as well as promoting, marketing and increasing the visibility of Jenkintown Library through email, a regular newsletter, program announcements, and social media networks.

This position requires excellent computer, organization, and communication skills as well as the ability to implement social media strategies that promote Jenkintown Library. This position also requires the candidate to demonstrate creativity, self-initiative and excellent writing and photography skills. Fundraising Coordinator 
This person will be responsible for coordinating and supporting the Jenkintown Library’s fundraising efforts amongst its Board of Trustees’ Fundraising Committee and the Friends of the Jenkintown Library.

This position requires excellent computer, organization, and communication skills, as well as an ability to work both independently and in a team environment.  Prior experience with CRM programs is preferable. This position also requires the candidate to demonstrate creativity, self-initiative, excellent writing skills and attention to detail. Jenkintown Borough Council is seeking to fill a vacancy on Borough Council. The term will expire on January 1, 2024. Interested persons must be a registered elector living in the Fourth Ward of Jenkintown Borough for at least one year. Letters of Interest and Resumes should be submitted by 5:00 PM on Sunday March 13^th. Republic Services, the Borough’s contracted trash hauler has just notified the Borough Administration that due to adverse conditions caused by the winter storm, they will be canceling curbside collections today. Collection of curbside trash and recycling will be delayed one day and will take place tomorrow, Saturday January 8th, 2022.

Important Thanksgiving Weekend and Holiday Season Activity Information
Below is important information from the Borough regarding the Thanksgiving holiday weekend and holiday activities occurring in Town Square:

Borough Hall Closed – November 25^th, 2021 and November 26^th, 2021: Jenkintown Borough Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 25^th, 2021 and Friday, November 26^th, 2021 in recognition of the Thanksgiving holiday.  Borough Hall will reopen on Monday, November 29^th, 2021 at 10:00 a.m.

Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, trash and recycling Collection will be collected on Saturday, November 27th, 2021.

Town Square Menorah Lighting: The Town Square Menorah will be lit for the Hanukkah holiday, however there will be no public lighting celebration. The first candle will be lit at sunset on Sunday, November 28^th, 2021. There will be a Menorah Lighting event at 610 York Road. Information regarding that event to follow.

Light Up The Square: The annual Holiday Tree Lighting event will be held on Saturday, December 4^th, 2021 at 6:00 p.m. in Town Square.  There will be music, refreshments, and a special visit from Santa at about 6:45 p.m. Read More »
