Jenkintown’s “Green Light Go” Construction Project will begin Monday, July 15th.
This project will complete the upgrade of all Borough traffic lights to LED and install battery back-up devices on all York Road traffic lights. The project funding will also supply three mini electrical generators for emergency situations. Construction will begin at the intersection of York Road & Washington Lane, then proceed North on York Road in the direction of West Avenue. The contract for this project is open until early fall but the actual work is expected to be completed by mid August 2019.
Summit Avenue will be closed tomorrow, Friday, July 12th, between Leedom and Cedar Streets from 7:00 AM until 5:00 PM. Unforeseen utility conflicts were encountered by the contractor of the Summit House Apartments’ sanitary sewer project. This minor delay on the “Right of Way/ Roadway” portion of the project is expected to last one day and be completed by the end of the workday on Friday, July 12th.
Please make plans to take an alternate route to avoid further disruption of your travels. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these necessary improvements are made. Should you have any questions, please contact Borough Hall at (215) 885-0700. Thank you!
