How do I discard bulk items/white goods?

Special/Bulk Trash Collections

The Public Works Department offers a special collection on the first and third Wednesday of every month

You can schedule a special/bulk item collection by calling 215-885-0700opens phone dialer or emailing mmarlin@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email and providing your address, item(s) to be collected and contact information (i.e. phone/email).  Payment can be made by
mailing a check to Borough Hall at 700 Summit Avenue, Jenkintown, PA 19046, placing payment (cash or check) in the after-hours mail slot in the front door of Borough Hall, or handing it to the clerk. Payments can also be made over the phone by credit card;
however, a service fee will be applied by the card service company which may make this method less favorable.

There is no maximum number of items that can be collected per residence; however, this service is not available for full house clean-outs. The fee varies depending upon the items collected.  The fee is non-refundable, and only those items that are on the list will
be collected.  Payment for a special collection must be made no later than 3:00 PM the Tuesday before the collection.  Call or visit Borough Hall at your convenience for more information.

Televisions & Computers:  Pennsylvania state law requires that televisions, computers, and monitors be recycled and prohibits disposal as trash. Montgomery County’s Recycling Department has put together a list of haulers who will either pick up the TV or it can be dropped off to their site for a fee.  Please visit opens in a new windowthis page at Montgomery County website for more information
