Trash Collection for Friday 1/22

Due to the potential snow storm coming on Friday January 22nd, trash collection will begin 1 hour earlier, at 6 a.m., to allow enough time for the crew to safely travel to and from the transfer station.

Electronics Recycling Event!

There will be an Electronics Recycling Event Tomorrow

Saturday, January 16, 2016 – 10:00am to 2:00pm

Cosponsored by the Weavers Way Environment Committee and GrInCH (Green in Chestnut Hill). Anything with a plug! Collection takes place in the circular driveway of Norwood-Fontbonne Academy, off Germantown Avenue.  The address of the academy is 8891 Germantown Ave, Philadelphia PA 19118.

Note: Recycler requires $20 to take TVs and computer monitors, and $1 per pound for batteries. For a complete list of acceptable items, visit: opens in a new windowtinyurl.com/qy4wkhl. This event benefits the Environment Committee’s grant program and GrInCH’s student grants. Suggested donation: $10-$20.

The District Courts are Consolidating!

 

Good News!

In a money saving effort the County has decided to consolidate three of the district courts into one building right here in Jenkintown!  This building will be located on York Road.  The first court is expected to be in by July of 2016 with the project being fully completed by 2018.  More information about this can be found at the link below in an article posted by Laura McCrystal.
