2018 Sound the Alarm Campaign
The Jenkintown Borough Fire Department and the American Red Cross have joined forces for the national ‘Sound the Alarm‘ campaign. This event is focused at ensuring smoke alarms are in every residence within a ‘target hazard’ area. The area targeted was specifically chosen due to it being the most densely packed and populated area within the Borough limits.
On Sunday, May 6 – door hangers were distributed in that target area within the Borough. Crews will be out this Saturday, May 12th beginning around 9:30 AM to provide alarms to those who do not have them, as well as to provide additional fire safety information. All are welcome to stop by Independent Fire Station, located at 609 Greenwood Avenue between 10:00 AM and 12:00 PM for a tour or for more information.
In the event you will not be home at that time or you did not receive a door hanger because you do not reside within the target hazard area, and need assistance or information – please contact Kevin Lynch, Jenkintown Borough Fire Marshal, at klynch@jenkintownboro.comcreate new email and the Fire Department will assist in any way possible.
