Following several public information and input sessions, the planning process for the Jenkintown 2035 Comprehensive Plan has been completed including the required comment portion by the public, neighboring municipalities and all other entities as required by the the Pennsylvania Municipal Planning Code. Jenkintown Borough Council will now be holding a public hearing this Wednesday, June 27th, at 7:30 PM here are Jenkintown Borough Hall, located at 700 Summit Avenue to consider the adoption of the Jenkintown 2035 Comprehensive Plan.
Jenkintown Borough Public Works will be closing the 400 block of Cedar Street to through traffic from West Avenue to Hillside Avenue and Hillside Avenue from Cedar Street to Shoemaker Avenue on Wednesday, June 20th from 7:00 AM until 4:00 PM. Passerini Construction along with Public Works will be replacing storm inlets for handicap accessible ADA ramps. Residents will still have access to their driveways and will be able to exit at West Avenue.
Please make plans to take an alternate route to avoid further disruption to your travels. Thank you for your patience and understanding while these necessary repairs are made.

On Saturday, June 23rd Montgomery County is hosting a free hazardous waste collection event from 9:00 AM- 3:00 PM at Abington Junior High School (please enter off of 2056 Susquehanna Road).
Volunteers will help you locate the correct entrance and position your car in line. Stay in your car, but unlock your trunk and any doors necessary to access the waste you want removed. Event staff will remove the waste and direct you to the exit. At a typical event, your wait time should be no longer than 30 minutes. Read More »
The Jenkintown Police Department in cooperation with the Montgomery County Health Department will hold a safety class on June 8th at 9am and 10am at Jenkintown Grade School for the Kindergarten children. The class will focus on pedestrian and bike safety. More classes will be scheduled for the older students in September. Thank you.
