Complete Cedar Street Park Plan Presentation and Q&A

Next Tuesday, March 12th at 6:30 PM at Borough Hall, Jenkintown Borough will be hosting the final Cedar Street Park Planning meeting to present and discuss the Park Layout Plan of the future Cedar Street Park. This public planning meeting is open to all residents and those who wish to participate in the planning process. Jill Spector Florin, creator of the Facebook community group, Upper Dublin and Neighboring Areas Water Updates will speak on PFAS contamination in the drinking water of the region.

Trash & Recycling Pick Up Delayed until Saturday, March 9th

Jenkintown Borough has been notified by Republic Services (the Borough’s trash and recycling hauler), that the curbside pickup of trash and recycling, in the Borough, will be delayed one day this week (to Saturday, March 9th) .
This delay is due to the winter storm the area received earlier this week.

Trash and recycling will be picked up this week on Saturday, March 9th.

Snow Emergency Declared by Mayor Dobbs

Mayor Dobbs has declared a snow emergency in the Borough of Jenkintown beginning today, 4:00 PM and expiring 4:00 PM tomorrow, Monday March 4th, 2019. Residents with a driveway are asked to please park in it.  If you do not have a driveway please park as close to the curb as possible to allow for safe passage of the Borough plow trucks. The forecast snow accumulation currently varies greatly (from 2″ to 8″), and differs by agency making the prediction. The temperatures are expected to make the roads very slippery throughout the night and in to rush hour traffic. If you must travel please take along the recommended safety gear and allow extra time to navigate the expected icy roads. Apply for Borough Council Vacancies

Jenkintown Borough Council is seeking to fill vacancies on Borough Council. Each appointment shall continue until the first Monday in January after the next municipal election (November 2019), when an eligible person elected to office will serve the remainder of each term (Ward 2 – January 1st, 2024 and Ward 3 – January 1st, 2022, respectively).

Interested persons must be a registered elector having resided in the Second or Third Ward respectively, for one continuous year, prior to the date of appointment. Letters of Interest and resumes should be submitted by 4:00 PM on Friday, March 8th. Interviews will be scheduled on the evening of Thursday, March 14th and Friday March 15th.
