2019 Paving Project To Commence

The 2019 paving project is now scheduled to commence and be completed next week, Monday, September 9th through September 11th. In addition to the Borough issued notifications, the Borough’s paving Contractor, Associated Paving, is required to make direct notification to the residents on the roads to be milled and paved. Associated Paving will be posting no parking signs today, Friday, September 6th, in the affected areas which will be in effect beginning Monday, September 9th. While it is always the intent of the Borough to complete the paving project prior to the start of the school year, this year there were external factors outside of the Borough’s control. Due to school being open and the presence of children before and after school, extra safety precautions have been taken including adjusting the working hours of the Contractor, notification of the School District and advance planning with the Police Department including additional Police presence for safety during the arrival and dismissal process.

The 2019 paving project includes the milling and paving of  Walnut Street between Greenwood & West Avenues, Highland Avenue between West & Hillside Avenues, as well as Cedar Street between Willow Street & Summit Avenue. Avoidance of the project area is recommended while work is being performed for the safety of the General Public and Contractors performing the work, as well as to avoid possible delays. Read More »
